Nina Shen Rastogi writes a lot about culture (high, low, and pop), girls, and race. In the past she wrote a lot about the environment. She's been an editor of articles and books and websites and so forth.
She holds a BA in English from Yale and an MA in Shakespearean Studies from King's College London and the Globe Theatre. (Go ahead. Ask her about her dissertation on conceptual binary systems in Measure for Measure.) She was recently a Paul and Daisy Soros Fellow at NYU's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, where she focused on cultural reporting and criticism.
